April’s Advice:

Create Categories & Tags For Your Blog To Make It Easy For Posts To Be Found

healingherbsplr2

If you’re building a niche site or a health site in general, you can set the categories up by what the herbs will help. For example, you could have categories for kidneys, lungs, cancer, skin, headaches, and fibromyalgia. These are only a few categories.

Then use the types of herbs as tags. So you’ll create tags for lavender, lemongrass, basil, and chamomile.

If you’re not sure how to do this check out these blog posts on Become a Blogger:

For a more in-depth post check out the Categories Vs. Tags.    He has a podcast, a video, and a Slideshare – as well as the blog post detailing the differences.

When you create a site you want to make sure it is as easy to navigate as possible. By setting up the categories and tags like this you’ll be able to use multiple herbs tags per article – if needed.

Then for each of these articles that you put up on the blog, you’ll see if they mention a way these herbs can help someone.  If not, then also create a category for Tips (or something similar).  If you’ve already have a health site then create a main category for Healing Herbs and then use it as the parent category for the other categories.

You’ll then create tags for the herbs.  That way if they are just looking for the herbs they will be able to easily search for it.

Use the Herb PLR Report As an Opt-In

The best way to get people to sign up for your list is to provide an opt-in that they want.  Below I’ll walk you through how to take the report that is in the Healing Herbs PLR Bundle that is content only and create an opt-in report that you can upload to your email autoresponder and start having people sign up for your newsletter.

Here’s what to do with the Growing Your Own Medicinal Herbs PLR report in this pack:

1. Create an eCover

You’ll need an eCover for the report and can make one at Canva.com, PicMonkey or Stencil.  These are online graphics software programs that you can use.  Some of them are free.

2. Use Images in the Report

You’ll find several images in your Healing Herbs PLR Bundle that Jennifer has already found for you.  Take those images and add them to the report where they fit.

3. Personalize the Report

Read through the report and add anything that comes to mind. This could be stories, tips, news or your opinions.

4. Add Heading and Subheadings

While you’re reading through the report add Headings and Subheadings.  This will make the report easier to read and add some white space.  People do not like to read content that is not broken up into sections.

5.Format the Report

You can format the report several different ways, but some easy tips are to use bullets throughout.  You can do this by breaking up sentences that have a list and instead create bullets for each one.

Also add a header or a footer into the Word document.  You could include the name of the report, as well as Brought to you by your name or your site name.  If space allows you could include both or a logo.  Make sure to hyperlink back to your site.

6. Take Flat eCover

When you create these you’ll want to get a flat copy for the front page of the report.  Add that on the front for the cover.

7. Create an About Me

Add an About Me Page on the second page.  Include any relevant and fun information about you that will let people get to know you.  Don’t forget your picture.

8. Include a Table of Contents

Create a Table of Contents on the third page (clickable would be more desirable).  But as long as you have one that is all that matters.  I would not only include the topic sections that are listed above, but I would include the headings and subheadings that you went through and added on step 4.

9. Turn the Word Document into a PDF

You don’t want people to be able to edit your document, so you’ll need to turn the report into a PDF.  That is easily done on most Word software.  Click Save As – then find PDF as the format.  That is all there is to it.

10. Set Up Report in Autoresponder Software

Set up the report as an opt-in for your customer. To do this you would use your email autoresponder to deliver the PDF.  Two popular ones are Aweber and GetResponse.

I personally use ConvertKit and absolutely love it.  I think it is user-friendly and easy to use.

11. Make an Opt In Form

Create a form with your email autoresponder. If you don’t have one you can use a software like GetResponse or aWeber.

This is a way to increase your newsletter subscribers.  Once you’ve done it a few times it will get easier.

You want to have several opt-ins for your website to increase the number of people who sign up.  One person might not be interested in this, but another may.  Everyone is different – so have different opportunities for people to get on your list.

Also, you can use any done-for-you content to create an opt-in. You don’t have to use the pack that I mentioned above. As long as it adds value for your reader they’ll be interested it.

On Niche Starter Packs you’ll find over 200 different done-for-you content packs on a variety of topics in the Business, Home & Garden, Health and Personal Development niche. Most of these offer a compiled report, as well as a Canva eCover template. You can pick one of these up and get it up on your site by following the steps outlined above.
